On April 22, 2013, we started The Second International Open Days. The event is organized Kujawy and Pomorze University in collaboration with partners from Turkey, Greece, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Ukraine, Italy and the United States. The lecturers of our University and foreign universities have prepared a number of interesting workshops, presentations, competitions and lectures.
Monsignor Giuseppe Scotti Honorary Professor of KPU
April 22, 2013, the University Senate officially awarded the title of Honorary Professor of Kujawy and Pomorze University to Monsignor Giuseppe Antonio Scotti, Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, Chairman of the Joseph Ratzinger (Benedict XVI) Vatican Foundation, President of the Vatican Publishing House, a recognized media expert and journalist. This was one of the main events during the inauguration of the Second International Open Days, which will last until
Saturday, 27 April 2013. The title of KPU Honorary Professor was awarded by the School’s Senate for the second time in its 13-year history, and the promoter of this procedure was KPU’s assoc. professor Janusz Kutta. The award was given in recognition of Monsignor Scotti’s contributions to learning, culture and social life.
International Open Scientific Days
are held on 22nd – 27th April 2013
KPU of Bydgoszcz in order to intensify the internastionalization of studies, popularise
science, culture and art as well as promote the scientific achievements of our University and
our partners, KPU organizes yearly scientific events for academics as well as general public.
In October 2013 KPU is organizing the fourth international conference “One World – Many
Cultures”, while in April 2013 International Open Scientific Days are held for the
our representatives of Kujawy and Pomorze University in Bydgoszcz visited Kazimieras Simonavicius University between 18-22 March 2013. Recently, this university has become KPU partner within the frames of Erasmus Program.
A group of 42 recent secondary-school graduates and teachers from the high school in Vinnytsya, Ukraine visited Kujawy and Pomorze University in Bydgoszcz on 26th March 2013. As many of them wish to study at KPU from the next academic year, they were given the opportunity to see the university and its facilities, meet with the lecturers and students, including some of their friends from the Ukrainian high school (among several dozen foreign students studying at KPU there are about 30 Ukrainians). The applicants are interested in such fields of studies as International Relations, English Philology, Economics and Information Technology.
Steppe as an opportunity for young Poles in Kazakhstan
From academic year 2012/2013 Kujawy and Pomorze University in Bydgoszcz opened the Educational Scholarship Programme “Steppe” addressed to the descendants of Polish exiles. The first edition of the Programme is aimed at two Poles from the region of Tayinsha in Kazakhstan, but there are much more people who need such help. Hence, all universities in Kujawy and Pomorze Region, as well as other institutions and individuals are invited to support this project.
Discussion on the problems of multicultural world continues
The 3rd International Interdisciplinary Conference “One world – many cultures. Humans and their environment from the cultural, legal, economic and social perspective" took place on 25-26 October 2012 on the premises of Kujawy and Pomorze University in Bydgoszcz. The number of participants amounted to over 70 eminent scholars from Polish and foreign Universities.
A quite numerous group of foreigners is going to study at KPU in the upcoming academic year 2012/2013. Apart from exchange students, there are many young foreigners from such countires as Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Norway who decided to take a whole course of studies at our university.
KPU - Reliable School plus Good University equals Good Job
For the 8th time Kujawy and Pomorze University in Bydgoszcz has been awarded the certificate "Reliable School"! Also,
the Academic Information Centre in Poznań granted our University the certificate "Good University - Good Job 2012".
That is excellent news for our students and applicants for admission to our University. These awards guarantee that KPU acts legally,
has proper teaching facilities, provides favourable teaching conditions and educational offer adjusted to requirements of employers,
well preparing the students to continually changing job market.

Chinese delegation at Kujawy and Pomorze University
7 representatives of Open University of China visited KPU on 22 June 2012. In the campus on Piotrowskiego Street the authorities of both universities discussed the possibilities of coopeartion, including academic exchange, joint undertakings such as conferences, research projects and publications. The delegation visited also the campus on Toruńska Street to see the modern facilities and specialist technical equipment our students can make use of.
On 23-27 April 2012 Kujawy and Pomorze Univesity in Bydgoszcz held International Open Scientific Days for the first time. During these days lecturers from different countries carried out several workshops, shows, lectures and competitions for schoolboys and schoolgirls, students and adults to promote education, culture and art. KPU organized this event together with partner universities from Kazachstan (University of International Business), Turkey (Izmir University) and Great Britain (Havering College of Further and Higher Education), several cultural and educational institutions as well as businessmen. KPU delegation visit in Daugavpils University, Latvia
Between 30 May - 2 June 2012 six representatives of our University visited our partner, University of Daugavpils in Latvia and discussed the possibilities of closer cooperation, especially between Faculties of Pedagogy and Economics. Our delegation took the opportunity to meet with Polish community, which consitutes 15% of Latvian population, including Polish school educating children from primary school up to high school. KPU representatives established cooperation with the school and will begin with gathering necessary books, especially textbooks. Moreover, our delegation laid a wreath on the grave of 237 Polish soldiers fallen during the battle of Dyneburg against Bolsheviks in 1920.

On June 11, 2012 the Secretary of State of the Holy See Cardinal Professor Tarcisio Bertone officially opened in Kujawy and Pomorze University in Bydgoszcz
the first in Poland Ratzinger Studies Centre. That day was extraordinary for KPU also because our University Senate conferred the title of Honorary Professor of KPU on our eminent guest, the closest assistant of the Pope, in recognition of his scientific, social and cultural achievements. After the opening ceremony, His Eminence delivered a speech on J. Ratzinger/Benedict XVI's contribution to the ethical reflection on contemporary economy, thus commencing the International Scientific Conference entitled "Ethics and economics in the light of Benedict XVI teaching".
On 2 June 2012 our University for the fifth time organised canoeing trip on Brda river commemorating Karol Wojtyła canoeing trips in Kujawy and Pomorze region in 1953 as well as his papal visit in Bydgoszcz (on 7 June 1999) during his 7th pilgrimage to Poland. The route Mylof - Woziwoda is annully covered by KPU students and staff as well as Kujawy and Pomorze region inhabitants who are willing to spend their free time actively admiring the beauty of nature.
